Sea Urchin
When I was in Philippines having one of our Japanese dinner, my boss order one sushi with a special type of topping which I could not remember what the topping was called... until today.
In Cantonese, it was called 'hoi dam', while in English, it is known as sea urchin. If you like or able to accept raw food like Sashimi, then you'll love sea urchins. To me, it tasted a little slimmy and raw food has never been my kind of thing, so they say I'm wasting it when I eat because I am unable to enjoy such delicacy.
In Malaysia, such food is considered a luxury because of its price. It's so damn expensive. But its quite cheap in the Philippines and China. If I'd ever be able to taste it again, I'll probably be able to enjoy it more.

I want this!!!
I've never tasted a toast bread as delicious as this. It was given by a colleague of mine.
The wrapper looks like this:
The moment I opened the wrapper, the aroma was so strong, I knew I was going to love it. I did. The sugar spreaded on the bread tasted just about right and was not too sweet nor too plain.
Wonder if I can find them here. If I ever were to go to Japan, I'll definately be looking for this.

Authentic Kelantan food
Yesterday, for the first time ever, had a taste of an authentic Kelantan food cooked by my uncle (mom's cousin) who came down from Kelantan for a holiday. If not mistaken, I think it's called 'kau-jam'. I really have to ask my mom that about that. Anyway, the rice is in green after it's been soaked with some veggies and soup.
The rice itself is tasteless. You have to add the side dishes like cucumber, bean curds sprouts, coconut flesh, fish, long beans and some other raw edible vegetables. The most important 'ingredient' is of course, 'budu', a type of 'kicap' found only in Kelantan.
Sadly, I forgot my camera :( So no photos to show. I must really remember to bring my camera around.

Farewell treats
We usually would treat the leaving staff lunch before they leave but in this case, they're treating 2 people at the same time. A senior, Patrick from my team also left about the same time as me. One is a dim sum lunch at Marco Polo Restaurant, one is Western food at Thai club opp. Beach Club and a third is KFC. So 3 treats by 3 different group of people.... hehehe... so nice of them all.
Dim Sum treat was shared by my boss (Joyce) and my VP (Nancy, also my ex-GM). Western food last Friday was by 3 colleagues of other teams (one is from the Accounts, another is the secretary of a senior manager, and also the QA Manager), and finally KFC yesterday by the wacky tea-lady of ours, though a bit paiseh for the third one. Luckily she only treated me alone.
Also had a Peking roast duck as another treat by Patrick though he meant to treat us for his last day in Formis. He left 2 days before me. The newly opened restaurant is opposite Radius Int'l Hotel and we had a serving of one roast duck made into 3 course dish - the roasted skin eaten with popiah skin, the flesh fried again in celery and the bones boiled into a soap soup.
Me in return bought those present for the duck lunch Starbucks. Will maybe treat the rest next time. I still need to go back to colleague collect my cheques.

Birthday treat
Only that it was my treat for someone else. For a belated birthday outing, I treated a friend to a lunch for her birthday at a cafe/restaurant "Delicious by MS READ" at One Utama new wing.I also bought her another present. And in return, my good friend here, baked me this for my birthday. Kind of a joint celebration for us...
And she also bought me this manga as a present...
I've watched the anime version of this story. She knows that I don't read manga, comics nor any books. I think she's trying to make me read... and be a book worm like her... hahaha XD.
Our lunch and presents were long overdue because we just couldn't find the time to meet up. I'm busy with work while she's busy with all her bfs ;o) ... and gfs as well
Anyway, this woman was an hour late. We promised to meet at 11am. I left my house a little early fearing that there might be a bad jam heading towards the area but it was really smooth. I reached the place around 10.30am, so that means I actually waited for an hour and a half. Because of this my parking ticket exceeded into another time block, making me pay RM3.00 while she only paid RM1.00.... sigh
At the restaurant, the meal I ordered wasn't really to my liking. I can't remember what it's called but it's like spaghetti noodle blended with lots of greens. I find it a little salty and too much cheese. It looked quite small the portion but was very filling due to the cheese. But the drink was nice. It was watermelon added with lychee. I brought my camera along but forgotten to take the photo of my food. Need to remember that next time.
We then sat down at a juice bar drinking some mix fruit juices while looking around because I was feeling thirsty. After that, we just walked around. She, being a woman, naturally would be looking at cloths and shoes.
Me... I just went around, trying out some spectacles caused I thought of looking for one for casual wear. Found a few really nice one and she liked it to. But spending RM 1xx for something that I'll hardly wear is something I'm still quite reluctant to do. Besides, I feel really uncomfortable wearing them. Not used to it.
After a while, we left. At home, I tasted the cakes. One word says it all. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!! Thanks dear... for your time and effort. Hopefully I'll get to eat more of them... hahaha!!!! XD

Vegetarian Spagetthi
Yesterday was 'Sam Yut Chor Yat'... the 1st day of the 3rd month. So one of my colleague and I went to the temple opposite Chorus Hotel was a vegetarian lunch. We walked there as it's near our client office where I'm still currently based at.
I've been to that place a couple of times, and this was the first time I see them selling spagetthi. So my colleague and I gave it a try. Taste so much like the spagetthi we would have outside, only minused the minced pork or chicken we used to have. Only problem is that they served too much gravy, so you'll feel very stuffed after that. I couldn't taste the cheese so I don't think they added any.
The last time here, I tasted the Looi Char for the first time too. Had such a difficult time chewing all those vegetables. And the soup taste kind of funny too. Maybe it's because I'm not used to eating it.

The Pig
2 of my colleagues are leaving soon. One leaving this week while another in a month's time. So my boss treated the department to a farewell lunch at a spanish restaurant called Elcerdo, located along Tengkat Tong Shin. Here's the website. It shows the map to the place. They only serve their specialty - pork. Even the place was decorated with pigs... lot's of it too.
Below are some of the photos taken from one of my colleague.

The Food
The place was very nicely decorated, with nice dimmed lights, thus making the surrounding a little more cosy and comfortable. Needless to say, a place like this don't come cheap. A glance on the menu shows the prices all starting from RM3x.xx onwards and a half roast pig cos a little over RM90.00. Lunch that cost over RM500 for a group of 9. My boss doesn't know of my blog, so she won't be reading this... but thank you boss for the splendid lunch.
To a normal person like me, the place is pretty expensive but to a person who enjoys fine dining lifestyle, it is probably worth all the monies spent.
