School Song

Just read my friend's blog and it was so happen a long delayed post about her gathering with her primary school friends and she posted our school song (we were from the same primary school but she's way my senior).

I then become 'semangat' to post my BB school song.
So here it is, the English version:

B-B-B-S ever,
We would pledge to thee,
All our high endeavour,
With all our loyalty,
May thy star grow brighter,
May thy fame increase,
May this glorious chorus never never cease,

Here we strive for honour,
Here we seek for truth,
Learn to help the weaker,
With the strength of our youth,
Of the highest wisdom,
Let our watch-word be,
Without God before us all is vanity.

I think I'll just skip the Malay version... haha
This post can perhaps be considered a continuation of this post - BB is 50.

And since the primary school lyrics was already posted, I'll just link this to her site.

Memory: The Song

Another song that wouldn't keep out of my mine.

Was already preparing to go home after work yesterday. The moment I stepped into my car and turned on the radio, this song began to play.

It's been a while since I last heard this song.

So the song:

Memory
By: Barbra Streisand

Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan

Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can dream of the old days
Life was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Every street lamp seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters and the street lamp sputters
And soon it will be morning

Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
A street lamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning

Touch me,
It's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me,
You'll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun...

Somewhere Out There

Heard this song this morning over LiteFM (formerly: Light N Easy) while on my way to work today.

After that, this song just kept ringing into my brain... kinda missed the song and the movie. Having the song ringing in my mind is kinda refreshing and keeps my mind awake, especially when there isn't much to do at work and I'm falling asleep and leaving my office at 5.30pm is fast becoming a norm.

Anyway, the song...

Lyrics as performed byLinda Ronstadt and James Ingram
from the movie An American Tail (1987)

Somewhere Out There
written by James Horner, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil

Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight

Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

Edelweiss

Finally found out the title of this song and I immediately went looking for it.
This was the song sang by the Captain in the Sound of Music.

.
.
.

Edelweiss, edelweiss,
every morning you greet me
small and white,
clean and bright,
you look happy to meet me

blossom of snow
may you bloom and grow,
bloom and grow forever
edelweiss, edelweiss,
bless my home-land forever.

To Where You Are

Recently, this song just kept playing in my mind. Probably recent events has made me recall the not too distant past. I've always find this song touching. But recently, it touched me even more. Also to specially dedicate this to the lost a friend recently experienced.

To Where You Are
By Josh Groban

Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You're still an inspiration
Can it be (?)
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'Cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

I know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Amigos para siempre

I've always loved this song, just that never did get the chance to find the lyrics because I never knew the title. And now that I've found it, here's the link to the actual site. Beautiful song. And please remember to read the endnote.

Sarah Brightman & José Carreras - Amigos para siempre

(Friends for life)

Sarah

I don't have to say
A word to you
You seem to know
Whatever mood
I'm going through
Feels as though
I've known you forever

José

You
Can look into my eyes and see
The way I feel
And how
The world is treating me
Maybe I have known you forever

both

Amigos para siempre
Means you'll always be my friend
Amics per sempre
Means a love that cannot end
Friends for life
Not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

I feel you near me
Even when we are apart
Just knowing you are in this world
Can warm my heart
Friends for life
Not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

Sarah

We share memories
I won't forget
And we'll share more,
My friend,
We haven't started yet
Something happens
When we're together

José

When
I look at you
I wonder why
There has to come
A time when we must say goodbye
I'm alive when we are together

both

Amigos para siempre
Means you'll always be my friend
Amics per sempre
Means a love that cannot end
Friends for life
Not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

I feel you near me
Even when we are apart
Just knowing you are in this world
Can warm my heart
Friends for life
Not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

José

When
I look at you
I wonder why
There has to come
A time when we must say goodbye

both

I'm alive when we are together

Amigos para siempre
Means you'll always be my friend
Amics per sempre
Means a love that cannot end
Friends for life
Not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

I feel you near me
Even when we are apart
Just knowing you are in this world
Can warm my heart
Friends for life
Not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

Amigos para siempre
Means you'll always be my friend
Amics per sempre
Means a love that cannot end
Friends for life
Not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre
Amigos para siempre
