Of late

Well, my life's been a breeze of late. Easy-going, no worries, no chills, and definately, no trills. There hasn't been much work in the office, my games of squash and badminton is still on-going, and I've been kind of bored reading manuals.

Yeah, since I don't have any development work at the moment, the only thing I could at work, is to read the user manuals. 3 of them actually... financials, manufacturing and automotive. But I only managed to read the financial manuals.

The automotive module implements the KANBAN theories. I've yet to fully understand the concepts and the system flow until I actually play around with the systems. These are kind of complicated systems.

Financials theoretically revolves around the double entries, trial balance, balance sheets and reports. How difficult can those be? But I'm still kind of blur.

Manufacturing and automotive? Both may be similar and partly integrated, as with the financial module, but I believe I have to really understand how a manufacturing firm operates to know how the system works. There's just too many workflows involved.

During the night, I either watched TV or anime. The English football season just began, but unlike their youth team whom just won the CYC recently concluded in Malaysia, Manchester United's season did not start with the 'bang' as many has hoped for.

I've completed Heroes, from episode 1-12 which was from my first disc. But the second disc (ep. 13 - 20) seem to have some problem. Anyone has a watchable copy to lend me? Just started watching Naruto too. Last night, completed episode 17 only.

It's the squash night. So not going to watch anything tonight.

Lost in translation

Today I found out that the Japanese anime, Fruit Basket, is now shown on TV but it's the translated version. Somehow, cartoons and animes always sound best when it's in its original language.... which is English for the cartoons, and Japanese for animes.

These days, while I still enjoy some cartoons/animes, it just do not sound the way it used to with all the translations. The coordination sucks, the voices are terrible, and it's lost all the feel, humour and excitement of the cartoons/animes. Furthermore, certain parts are usually censored, and I reckon that it's either because the censorship board finds it obscene, or to spare some airtime for the advertisements.

Anyway, going back to Fruit Basket, in today's episode, Tohru found out about Momiji's age, that he's actually around her age while she'd always thought that he's just a little child. For those who have watched it, you'll know what happened. For those who did not, try watching it and find out yourself :P
