The fuss of modern working days
In the modern day, working life isn't as enjoyable anymore. Yet, we're all stuck with it in the name of "SURVIVAL". To many of us, we don't work we don't get paid. We don't get paid, we can't eat, pay bills or buy our favourite stuff. And working in the corporate world sometimes can make things difficult and life more stressful.
People say, working for ourselves is better. But that would usually mean even longer hours because we have to maintain our business. There are also worries. Whether we're an employer or employee, it's both sucks because working life sucks because just how many of us can say, "I'm not working today..." ????
As for me, I don't mind working long ours if I know it's a worthwhile investment of my time. But your boss may not even appreciate it and would keep asking for more. And we can't just refuse because we're not financially secured to just leave our jobs. Many people has realised this and have other side incomes in them. To this people, it's great that they know how... and I want to learn and know how.
I'm that kind of person who enjoys working but I find my job is getting too technical for me that has made me to reconsider my prospects in life. Should I just leave IT and find some other jobs? What? I'm not equip to do Sales & Marketing... I'm not qualified to do Accounts & Finance, neither am I good with my handcrafts, graphics or decos.
Some experts says we should learn how to let money for us. There's a marketing saying that reads: "You spend money to make money", but how are we able to make money in the first place to even let it work for us? Do we have that kind of making money mentality or be a money minded person? I'm still looking for the "HOW" factor and also the right "ATTITUDE".
Man... at only 22 years of age... I'm already worried of so many things. Thinking of so many questions.

you are not the only one worried about money..I can say that all of us in the blogring are too... Maybe the best job would be a senior manager of some large company... those that can go and play golf everyday and come back to office once in a while for meetings....haha.

lol that is the worst job my fren, u have to see ur customer/board of directors face. The more u get paid the more pressure u have. If it was soo easy, an office boy would willing to do it with 1/4 of the salary.
Eng: what u said is right, u have to some how to work to earn money first. Only then start to think how to make money work for u. IMO we are much better than our parents. How many year they are working as employee? ...hmmm 20 years? 30 years?...
When someone have the desire, they will sacrifice themselve to get it. GIVE and TAKE concept. Somebody willing to spend a whole month salary just to buy a handphone.
By BillyTong, at 12 September, 2005 14:15
yea... the higher your position, the higher the pressure goes but if you're good, you'll be able to handle it well...
secondly, I dun think we're much better than our parents, maybe for mine. My parents never need to put up with all these problems with harsh demanding employers or working pressure. Their time is so different from ours. Heck, my parents never need to know the technology.... therefore, no mobile phones and computers
and in the case of a mobile phone, I'll never gonna spend a whole month salary just to buy one.

As Pun said, you aren't the only one with money problems. Everytime I think about it, my head starts aching. T_T But you know what, running your own business gives you EVEN more headache. And Chun Eng, if you want to change line, there's always a way. Of course, a bit of money has to be sacrificed lah... ;)

ahha..i tell u eng..after seeing my boss's lifestyle.i seriously..seeeerrrriioouussly...dropped watever ambition i had in my head to become a boos myself(someday).
OMG...he looks soo stressed and sleeps in the office most of the time.
running here n there..and wat with maintaining all his very "dedicated staffs" & clients..aisay..very stressful la.he's just 24 yrs old and looks so worn out.
ahha..seriously la eng...think many many many mannnnny times before u wish to become a boss someday.
but then again its a good thing to hav ur own company..if u can take the challenge..then go ahead man!nothing can stop u!
By ashes, at 14 September, 2005 10:29
honestly I do have plans to own my own company in the future but at the age like 24 lar...
that makes me too inexperienced to manage my own company.
Ash: early stage of the company is always difficult but once it's stable you won't need to sleep in the office like your boss
Steph: what suggestions you have??
By Eng, at 14 September, 2005 22:47
Eng: AHAHAHA, I'm an example:D Nah, don't follow me. Hmmm, I really can't give you any. You'll have to think of it yourself. And about early stages of company difficult, well that true, but you know what? It's MAINTAINING it that'll be difficult. Incorporating is easy. Anyone can do that. Getting in the business is hard. I have a few companies under us who are "sleeping", idle...Maintaining it is EVEN harder...making sure that your clients won't leave you and so on. There really isn't any easy way to make money at all.
Ash: Wah, your boss so young ah. How about the other staff?
By StephanieC, at 15 September, 2005 11:10
eng : i agree..heh..but the problem is,to wait for the "stable" time..it could take me ages n i dunno how much other good things i could hav missed out(like hanging out wit frens or studying something) during tat waiting period.
sighh..tat time..i could(i repeat *could*)..be too old or not fit to do any of it..hehe..but anyway chun eng tats just me la..i still think having a own company is a good thing u know.
so if u open one..get me a job there will ya?..;)
steffi : heh..yeap..right u are.my boss is an ex-apiitian and so is 70% of my colleagues here..they are all his x-classmates.n he started this company after he graduated 2 years ago.
By ashes, at 15 September, 2005 11:37
yea ppl...
you need to understand the game of business before you even can jump into it...
as what Steph said, setting up a comp is just by registering it... but maintaining your business is like keeping your life afloat...
