Misc.

Ok... firstly, I just realised that this would be my 100th post, and this month makes my blog 2 years old as well. What a coincidence for both.

Also, today, I went to PC Fair on my own for the 2nd time in as many days and got myself this:
Nikon Coolpix L11

A brand new Nikon Coolpix L11 for RM 599, perhaps a bargain when elsewhere was at RM 688, with a little more freebis as well. I even went to 2 camera shops in Section 14, PJ to confirm this. Anyway here are the specs. This model was only released in February 2007, so it's still a very recent model in the market.

When I went to PC Fair yesterday with a few friends, I never intended to buy anything. Was just wandering around until I saw what was on display and the promotion they have. For the basic model and for that price, the little 'sexy' thing has almost everything I was looking for and with an acceptable quality and no. of features.

Of all the bells and whistles, the feature I love best was the Continous shot feature, where I just need to press the shutter and it'll keep snapping until I release it. No image stabiliser, so I'll have to make sure my hands don't shake when taking the photos. I'll definately be able to post more photos from now on.... hehehe :D

  • continuous shots?
hmm..tats something new..i guess it'll help alot..coz sometimes u need to take a few shot of something again n again to get the right one.

this feature is definetely useful for that purpose.

  • yupz... it's a feature I've always wanted. only problem with this camera was the there is no anti-shake or image stabilizer. so it means my hands has to be really stable otherwise, the camera will complain it's blur. but even so, it looks ok when displayed over the PC...

  • hmm..tats one big prob wit digital cameras.most of the pics will turn out blurr..i really find it impossible to "not shake" while taking a shot.
of course with enuff lighting/flash n all..even if u shake..the pics wil be ok.

but sometimes when u wanna take shots without flash or in a mediumly lit place(for natural shots)..its really hard..tats when i just click away..take a few shots.
hoping at least one of it would turn out ok.

  • I agree. It's so difficult not to shake when snapping a photo. Fortunately, it's digital. We can just delete the not-so-nice ones. If it was films, we could only see the results after the films are developed.

  • u can get a tripod for RM30 when u c one. Juz make sure ur hands r shaking when u r taking pics :P

  • Hmm... seems like your camera don't have manual overide on ISO & Shutter Speed.

The reason why Auto mode with flash seldom shake is due to the shutter speed normally at 1/60 sec and above.

If yours have manual overide on ISO & Shutter speed you should be able to get less shaky photo.

P/S: Canon & Panasonic point & shoot camera carry this capability.
