Happy New Year 2008

It's the time of the year again. Today's the last day of 2007, the eve ahead of the much welcomed 2008.

There are many things to look forward to next year. The most exciting to me, would the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

2007 has been a year of ups and downs. Hopefully the coming years will be smoother and less bumpy.

Anyway, Happy New 2008 to all. Hope you will all enjoy much better years ahead.

Christmas Exchange Gift

My company had the Christmas Exchange Gift party last Wednesday, 19th Dec. after the company sponsored KFC lunch. All gifts must be worth around RM 15 and I bought a gift from Memory Lane priced at RM 14.++ So it was close enough to the expected value.

In exchange, I got a book. It was a Chinese Philopsophy-cum-motivational book which I have absolutely no idea what it says. So, I just gave the book to someone else, hoping that that person will one day translate something for me..... least I will know what's the content of the book. It was a very nice book, fully colour-printed soft-covered book. But sadly... I can't read.

A big THANK YOU to the one who bought it.

Tonight, expecting a huge dinner as it'll be the company's annual dinner.

The outdated update

Yes... finally, a little time to spare to blog about my Bangkok trip. I was actually in Bangkok for this:

Fruitful? Yea... I got myself an iPod Shuffle through the lucky draw. It was my first ever lucky draw present and an expensive one too... retailing at RM 349 for that tiny little thing.

See the photo:

Apart of that, yeah, we had quite a lot of drink during dinner before the height of the summit. It was a Thai steamboat dinner.

The conference wasn't really interesting... just listening to presentations after presentations, after presentations. You'll definately felt bored mid-way.

Lunch was in the hotel restaurant, serving a near-authentic Thai food. Why I say near-authentic? It's because the food was cooked without their usual spiciness so that the Japanese were able to eat.

Dinner that day was the usual buffet. Nothing great, food isn't as nice as of what I would expect from a 5-star hotel, The Dusit Thani Hotel, though the environment, design, ambience was to me, top-class.

And surprisingly, no one drink the way we drank the night before. The most interesting part was of course the lucky draw. It's nice when seeing the lucky drawn directors of the principal company, passing their gift to the next person. That's very sporting of them.

Oh, and before, I end this, perhaps a little introduction of the principal company. It's known as Fujitsu Kansai Systems Ltd., aka FKS, a subsidiary of Fujitsu Japan. Prones is FKS-owned ERP system, focusing on the manufacturing, financial and the distribution sector.

My company, being a partner of FKS, gets involved whenever a client or customer want's to modify or the common term, customise the system. And here is where I come in. I get involved in the customisation for clients.

This is for the fact the ERP system developers realised that no one ERP system can fit into all business environment, be it manufactuing, financial, distribution etc.

So I guess that's it for now. Time to get going. Still has tonnes of things to complete. Will put a little more detail next time.
